The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commission as officers.
According to a statement by the Nigerian Army, the DSSC programme is open to both civilians and serving military personnel, and targets professionals for deployment into key corps. These include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
The Army stated that the application process is free and will be conducted exclusively online. Interested applicants are expected to submit their applications between 7 January and 4 February 2026 through the official recruitment portal.
The Nigerian Army further advised applicants to seek additional information via its designated helplines—08179269294 or 08109959294—available daily between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., or by visiting its recruitment website at www.recruitment.army.mil.ng.
The Army emphasized that only applications submitted through the official platform within the stipulated period will be considered.
