The Delta State Police Command has taken administrative action concerning the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Jesse Division following complaints alleging unprofessional conduct.
According to multiple reports, the complaints included accusations of extortion linked to a case involving a suspect and a sum of ₦2.5 million allegedly collected from a relative of the suspect. The matter reportedly drew public attention and calls for an internal review, including demands for appropriate sanctions and the return of the disputed funds.
In response, the Delta State Police Command is said to have redeployed the officer from the Jesse Division, while steps were reportedly taken to address the financial complaint.
