Residents and indigenes of Udomi-Uwessan communities in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State have praised Governor Monday Okpebholo for what they described as massive developmental strides across the area in less than two years of his administration.

The commendation came as the governor embarked on a two-day working visit to communities in the locality to inspect ongoing projects and assess the level of progress recorded so far.

Speaking with journalists in Udomi, one of the youths, Christopher Ogbe, said the governor has transformed the area through key infrastructure and social development projects.

According to him, the governor has brought visible change to the community within a short period in office.

“We are very grateful to Governor Okpebholo. He is a blessing to our people. In less than two years, he has provided us with things we have wished for over the years. Roads are being constructed, and critical projects are ongoing. We are proud of what he is doing for our people,” Ogbe said.

Another indigene, Christiana Oyemere, also expressed appreciation to the governor, offering prayers for his continued success in office.

She described the governor as a compassionate leader whose policies have positively impacted communities across the state.

“Governor Okpebholo is a man with a good heart. We are praying for him because he always remember us.

During the inspection tour, Governor Okpebholo said his visit to Udomi formed part of a two-day working tour aimed at personally evaluating the progress of ongoing projects in the area.

The governor noted that it was important for him to see firsthand the level of work being done by contractors and ensure that projects are delivered according to specifications.

“I am here for a two-day working visit to inspect projects and see the level of work that is ongoing. I am satisfied with what I have seen so far, and we will continue to ensure that the people of Edo State enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he said.

Governor Okpebholo also attributed the progress recorded by his administration to the support and leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that federal support and improved funding have enabled his government to execute key development projects across the state.

According to him, the policies of president Tinubu have created an enabling environment that allows states to undertake meaningful development.

Among the projects inspected during the visit were the ongoing construction of a medical school, a hospital facility, and major road projects aimed at improving transportation and economic activities in the area.

The governor also visited the site of the Ekpoma market currently under reconstruction. The market was destroyed by fire during protests that rocked the area in January.

Governor Okpebholo had assured traders and residents that the market would be rebuilt to modern standards to restore commercial activities and provide a conducive environment for business.

The visit attracted community leaders, residents, and government officials who accompanied the governor as he inspected the projects and interacted with members of the community.
