Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the former First Lady of Ondo State, has officially joined the Labour Party (LP) in Imo State, signaling a new phase in her political journey.
In a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, Akeredolu revealed that she recently participated in the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) and stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja. The meeting, which took place on March 17, drew a large turnout of party members and supporters from across the country.
According to her, the event was so well attended that the venue struggled to accommodate the crowd, reflecting the growing momentum within the party.
Her move to the Labour Party comes alongside her declaration of interest in contesting for a senatorial seat in Imo State, setting the stage for what could be a significant political contest in the region.
