All 31 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The endorsement was announced by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, after a high-level meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to Uzodimma, the governors resolved to fully back Tinubu’s bid for a second term and work collectively towards securing his re-election in 2027.
The motion for the adoption of Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate was moved by Uzodimma and seconded by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani.
The governors also pledged to mobilise support and voters across their respective states to ensure victory for the President and the APC in the 2027 elections.
Beyond preparations for the next general election, the meeting also focused on key issues affecting Nigerians, including food security, agricultural development, the rising cost of living and transportation.
The governors expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration between the states and the Federal Government in addressing these challenges and improving the welfare of citizens.
The endorsement further consolidates support for Tinubu within the APC as the party begins positioning itself ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
