PORT HARCOURT, Rivers State — Port Harcourt is set to host a six-day tourism conference aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s untapped tourism assets and creating opportunities for investment and partnerships across the sector.
The Port Harcourt Conference Special 2026, organised by Encyclopedia Nigeria Limited (RC No. 631106) in collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Port Harcourt Branch, and Connecta Connect Communications, is scheduled for November 17–22, 2026, at the NUJ Complex, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to the organisers, the conference is themed “Exposing Hidden Tourism Potentials in Nigeria.”
The event is expected to bring together tourism experts, investors, aviation industry stakeholders, tourism organisations, media practitioners, government representatives, blue economy experts, advertisers, hospitality operators, federal agencies and other stakeholders.
The organisers said the programme would feature expert discussions on tourism, investment opportunities, networking sessions and activities designed to promote collaboration within Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality industries.
The six-day programme includes a conference on the first day, featuring expert discussions and investment opportunities, followed by a runway fashion show and networking activities on the second day.
The third day will focus on tourism exhibitions, providing participants with opportunities to showcase tourism-related products, services and destinations.
A round-table talk and panel discussion on “Investment in Tourism” is also scheduled as part of the programme, with Mrs. Nkem listed as moderator.
The organisers said the hospitality component of the event would feature a Hotel and Resort Showcase as well as a Hospitality Investment Forum, intended to connect operators and prospective investors.
Other activities include networking sessions aimed at helping participants build partnerships, create business opportunities and explore avenues for growth in the tourism sector.
The organisers listed registration fees at N100,000 for conference participants, N100,000 per exhibition stand, N30,000 for the runway fashion show, N20,000 for Bole Festival sellers, N10,000 for students, and N150,000 for hospitality industry participation.
They stated that participants could register online or at the venue, with accommodation booking and payment also available as part of the event arrangements.
The organisers described tourism as a sector capable of creating jobs, strengthening communities and supporting sustainable economic growth, urging relevant stakeholders to participate in the conference.
