President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday made a verbal slip during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election in Abuja, referring to himself as a governor.
The President made the remark while addressing party leaders and members of the campaign council at the event, where he spoke about the party’s preparations for the forthcoming presidential election.
In his address, Tinubu appeared to misspeak while referring to the campaign council’s leadership and the party’s objective of securing another presidential term.
“Distinguished leaders of our party, all the party members, presidential campaign council, I’ve seen my friend here that I must thank. And next will be the recognition of the director general of the presidential campaign council that we bring Governor Bola Tinubu back for second time,” he said.
Tinubu, who previously served as governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, is seeking re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
The remark came during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, which is expected to coordinate the ruling party’s mobilisation and campaign activities ahead of the polls.
