Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has led the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign flag-off in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, calling on party members and supporters to mobilise massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, himself and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The rally, held on Thursday, attracted prominent party leaders, political stakeholders and supporters from across the state, who pledged their commitment to securing victory for the APC at all levels.

Addressing party faithful, Oborevwori said his decision to join the APC followed extensive consultations with political stakeholders and was motivated by the need to align Delta State with the Federal Government for accelerated development.

He commended President Tinubu’s economic reforms, noting that increased revenue allocations had strengthened the financial capacity of state and local governments to execute development projects and meet their obligations.

The governor disclosed that about 17,500 Delta students had benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), while encouraging more eligible students to take advantage of the programme.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, education and healthcare, Oborevwori also revealed that the State Executive Council had approved the construction of divisional police headquarters in all 25 local government areas in anticipation of the proposed establishment of state police.

At a separate rally in Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area, the governor appealed to the people of Isoko nation to demonstrate their support for the APC by voting for the party’s candidates, including President Tinubu and himself.

He also urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

His wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, who hails from Isoko North, also appealed to the people to support her husband, President Tinubu and other APC candidates.

Describing voting as a powerful instrument of political expression, she urged the electorate to use their votes to determine the country’s political future.

“Your vote is your voice, your strength and your weapon. Use it to vote for APC,” she declared.

Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, said the Oborevwori administration had recorded significant progress in road infrastructure, education and healthcare, urging residents to sustain their support for the government.

Similarly, APC State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, presented party flags to the party’s candidates for various elective positions and charged them to work towards victory in their respective constituencies and polling units.

Former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, challenged party members to work towards delivering more than two million votes for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, stressing the need for victory across all elective positions.

The Director-General of the Delta APC Campaign Council, Senator James Manager, acknowledged the economic challenges confronting Nigerians but urged residents to remain hopeful, insisting that the Federal Government’s reforms were beginning to yield positive results.

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, expressed satisfaction with the large turnout at the rally, which he compared to the party’s national campaign activities.

Morka defended the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, explaining that they were designed to address the country’s challenges and reposition the economy.

Also speaking, the coordinators of the Isoko South and Isoko North Campaign Councils, Hon. Itiako Ikpokpo and Hon. Oviemuno Oghoore, respectively, joined other party leaders in canvassing support for the APC candidates.

Member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Hon. Julius Pondi, commended the governor for his commitment to youth appointments and empowerment, while Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, pledged the support of women for the party.

Other prominent APC chieftains, including former Delta State governorship candidate, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor; Chief Ovuozourie Macaulay; Ovie Umuakpor and Chief Solomon Ogba, also expressed support for the party’s candidates.

Ogba particularly highlighted the proposed Federal Medical Centre in Oleh and the planned dualisation of the Oleh Roundabout-Iyede Road as major development projects expected to benefit the Isoko nation.

During the rally, party flags were presented to the APC candidates, including Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for Delta South Senatorial District; Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko for Isoko Federal Constituency; Hon. Lucky Idhove and Hon. Ferguson Onwo for Isoko South Constituencies I and II; as well as Engr. Orobosa Ashakah and Chief Frank Ozue for Isoko North Constituencies I and II.

The campaign flag-off marked a major step in the APC’s grassroots mobilisation efforts in Delta State as party leaders intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections.
