The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarrett Tenebe, has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for what he described as the impressive pace of road rehabilitation across the state, describing him as a true “Wake-and-See Governor.”
Tenebe made the remarks during a nighttime inspection tour of several road projects in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Benin City, where he expressed amazement at the level of construction activities taking place late into the night.
The APC chairman, who was accompanied on the inspection by the Managing Director of the Edo State Road Maintenance Agency, Hon. Felix Ibhade, visited several roads, including Aiguobasimwin Road, Federal Avenue, Akhionbare Road, Ihama Road and Boundary Road, among others.
During the tour, Tenebe observed completed and ongoing rehabilitation works, noting the level of activity and commitment demonstrated by workers who continued construction operations beyond regular working hours.
He described the governor’s approach to infrastructure development as evidence of an administration determined to translate its promises into visible projects that directly affect the lives of residents.
The nighttime inspection also provided an opportunity to assess the progress of the road rehabilitation programme and the government’s efforts to improve road conditions across Benin City.
Governor Okpebholo’s infrastructure agenda is focused on improving road connectivity, easing transportation challenges, supporting commercial activities and enhancing the overall living conditions of Edo residents.
Through the rehabilitation and construction of roads, the administration aims to improve access to communities, strengthen economic activities and create a more conducive environment for businesses, commuters and residents.
The governor’s broader development vision places emphasis on delivering practical dividends of democracy through infrastructure renewal, improved public services and projects that respond to the everyday needs of the people.
Tenebe’s remarks during the inspection underscore the Edo APC leadership’s support for the administration’s infrastructure drive, particularly its efforts to sustain road construction and rehabilitation activities beyond conventional working hours.
