National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Sheriff Mulade, has visited the Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Pere Ama-Okosu King Couple Mackson Oromoni, Monbene III, to seek royal blessing and support ahead of the polls.
Mulade made the visit to the monarch’s palace on Tuesday amid a large crowd of supporters drawn from communities across the Warri Federal Constituency.
Addressing the monarch and chiefs, Mulade said his visit was to formally inform the traditional institution of his intention to contest for a seat in the National Assembly and to seek the royal blessing and support of the kingdom.
The NDP candidate, who is also the Ibesorimowei of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom and a UN Peace Ambassador, pledged to provide quality representation if elected to represent the constituency.
He promised to focus on attracting developmental projects to the constituency, empowering women and youths, and promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among the Ijaw, Urhobo and Itsekiri ethnic groups in the Warri metropolis.
Mulade appealed to Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo voters across Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas to support his candidacy at the 2027 polls.
He assured the people that he would not disappoint them if given the mandate to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
The visit formed part of Mulade’s engagements with traditional institutions and communities as he seeks support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
