In a decisive push to strengthen internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled several prominent members during its 2025 National Convention currently taking place in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Those affected by the sweeping disciplinary action include former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, among others.
The expulsion, endorsed by an overwhelming majority of delegates, marks one of the most assertive moves by the party in recent years. Party leaders say the decision reflects a renewed commitment to enforcing discipline, eliminating internal sabotage, and rebuilding a united front as preparations intensify for the 2027 polls.
