The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has directed all public senior secondary schools in Abuja to close by Friday, November 28, following rising security concerns in the nation’s capital.
The directive was contained in a memo issued on Tuesday by Aishatu Sani Alhassan, Director of School Services at the FCT Secondary Education Board.
The memo, sighted instructed principals and school heads to halt academic activities without delay and ensure that students are released “in an orderly and safe manner.”
The early closure is part of precautionary measures aimed at safeguarding students and staff as security agencies intensify efforts to address emerging threats across the FCT.
Further updates are expected as the situation unfolds.
