The governors of the 19 northern states have scheduled an emergency security meeting for November 29 in Kaduna as part of efforts to address the rising insecurity across the region.
Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, confirmed the development, noting that the high-level meeting will focus on forging a unified strategy to confront the region’s persistent security challenges.
According to Ahemba, leading traditional rulers from the North have also been invited to participate in the deliberations to ensure a broad, coordinated approach.
He stated that the gathering aims to “develop a unified approach to tackling security concerns affecting the region and discuss the way forward on security matters,” underscoring the urgency of the issues at hand.
