The Benin Traditional Council has denied any involvement of the Oba of Benin in the alleged assault on Pedro Obaseki, describing the act as unauthorised and inconsistent with the monarch’s values and conduct.

The Palace emphasised that the Oba neither approved nor condoned the incident.

It also appealed to youths to refrain from violence, uphold the rule of law, verify information before sharing it, and allow security agencies to handle all disputes appropriately.
