The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has reiterated the ministry’s unwavering commitment to the delivery of high-quality road infrastructure across the state in line with the MORE Agenda of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

Izeze gave the assurance on Monday in Asaba during a meeting with top management staff of the Ministry of Works, led by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Juliet Aboloje, and the Director of Highways, Engr. Solomon Aghagba, marking the official resumption of work for the 2026 fiscal year.

The commissioner said the meeting was an opportunity to welcome one another into the new year and to re-emphasise the importance of strictly adhering to the ministry’s approved work plan and agenda for 2026.

According to him, the ministry remains resolute in executing road projects that meet the highest standards of quality, while operating strictly within the approved Budgetary Estimates and Bills of Engineering Measurement/Bills of Quantities (BEME/BOQ).

Izeze stressed that the ministry’s operations would continue to be guided by professionalism, accountability and dedication to duty, in line with the development vision of Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

He urged management and technical staff of the Department of Highways and Urban Roads to sustain teamwork and diligence in order to ensure timely and efficient delivery of road projects that will improve connectivity and boost socio-economic activities across Delta State.

The commissioner reaffirmed that under the Oborevwori-led administration, the works ministry would not relent in its mandate, noting that the impact of ongoing and completed road projects across the state remains visible to all.
