The Women Wing of the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) has paid a courtesy visit to the First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevweri, in Asaba.

The visit took place on Friday, January 16, 2026, and was described by the delegation as an opportunity to engage with what they referred to as the “Mother of Delta State” on issues affecting Ndokwa Nation.

Speaking on behalf of Ndokwa women, the National Women Leader of NNU, Hon. Barr. Chief (Mrs) Cynthia Oputa-Governor, delivered an address in which she highlighted the prospects, aspirations, and challenges facing contemporary Ndokwa society. She noted that these issues reflect the long-standing call for socio-economic and political de-marginalisation of Ndokwa people within the state.

The courtesy visit attracted several high-profile female personalities from Ndokwa Nation, including first-grade royal queens, political leaders, and academic authorities, underscoring the importance of the engagement.

According to the delegation, Ndokwa women spoke with a unified voice, stressing that the greatness of Ndokwa Nation is not in doubt, but emphasized the need for a mutually beneficial partnership with the state government aimed at achieving sustainable development and improved revenue generation for the area.

The delegation praised Deaconess Tobore Oborevweri for her humility and leadership qualities, likening her to the Biblical figure “Mother Ruth.” They expressed confidence that under her maternal guidance, Ndokwa women would contribute meaningfully to the long-awaited prosperity of their people.

Members of the delegation also described the First Lady as warm, receptive, and encouraging, noting that she shared assurances and optimistic projections for the future of Ndokwa Nation.

The First Lady, in turn, conveyed her goodwill and best wishes to the entire Ndokwa Nation through the visiting delegation.

In a show of commitment to partnership and development, the NNU Women Wing made a financial donation to the First Lady’s pet project, reaffirming their dedication to supporting initiatives that promote growth and development in Ndokwa communities.
