Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dissolved the State Executive Council.
The decision was announced in a statement issued on Thursday night by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.
According to the statement, the governor directed all commissioners and special advisers to immediately hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
Nzeshi did not state the reasons for the dissolution but confirmed that the directive takes immediate effect.
The development signals a major shake-up in the state’s executive arm, with further announcements expected in the coming days.
