Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed two suspected terrorists during an operation along the Akunu-Auga road in the Akoko axis of Ondo State.
According to a statement issued on Monday by Irabor Njoka, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 32 Artillery Brigade, the troops were mobilised following credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists in the area on February 14, 2026.
Njoka said the soldiers engaged the suspects in a gun duel, neutralising two of them, while weapons and other items were recovered at the scene.
He added that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Army to rid the area of criminal elements and ensure the safety of residents.
