The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said it would be extremely difficult for any opposition candidate to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the FCT during the 2027 general election.
Wike made this known on Tuesday while speaking to journalists in Abuja after inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects in satellite towns across the territory.
According to the minister, the Tinubu administration has significantly improved the living conditions of residents through extensive infrastructure development, which he believes will translate into electoral support.
“It is very difficult for anybody to win an election in the FCT against Mr President,” Wike stated, attributing his confidence to what he described as visible progress under the current administration.
He added that residents of the capital city are likely to reward the president’s efforts with their votes in the next election cycle.
