President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned visit to Iperu in Ogun State, opting instead to travel to Jos, the capital of Plateau State, to commiserate with residents following recent gun attacks that resulted in multiple fatalities.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s visit to Plateau is aimed at expressing solidarity with the government and people of the state over the loss of lives.

After the Jos visit, President Tinubu is expected to travel to Lagos to observe the Good Friday holiday. He will subsequently proceed to Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, to commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Iperu, alongside the inauguration of two commercial aircraft intended to enhance import and export activities within the state.

During the Ogun visit, the President will also inaugurate the new Federal Operations Unit facility of the Nigerian Customs Service, including its operational vehicles.

The statement further noted that the President will return to Lagos for the Easter holiday, during which he is scheduled to commission several infrastructure projects undertaken by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. These projects include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a multi-agency complex named after the President, and a newly completed school complex.

Before concluding the tour, President Tinubu is expected to visit Bayelsa State on April 10 to inaugurate projects completed by Governor Duoye Diri.

The statement was signed by Onanuga and made available to journalists on Wednesday.
