Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, have uncovered an illegal baby factory in the Okuju area of Ilado, Badagry, Lagos.
The operation, which began late Wednesday night and continued into the early hours of Thursday, led to the rescue of 18 pregnant women and 10 children who were reportedly being held at the facility.
According to officials, the babies were allegedly sold for as much as N1 million each. Two suspects identified as Joy Okeke and Raphael Agwu, believed to be operators of the facility, were arrested during the raid.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to dismantle similar operations and ensure justice for the victims.
