The sudden death of Tony Ikpinyaro, a young man whose wedding was just weeks away, has left family members, friends, and associates in deep shock and confusion.

According to a tribute by Andrew Ohwobetehe, the deceased had, on March 23, 2026, personally shared plans for his forthcoming traditional marriage and solemnization, scheduled for April 25 in Asaba, with a reception to follow in Sapele.

In a follow-up conversation on April 1, after receiving a digital copy of the wedding invitation, further arrangements were discussed. However, tragedy struck shortly after, as news of Tony’s death was received on April 3—an event described as both sudden and devastating.

“What happened, I cannot tell; only God Almighty knows,” Ohwobetehe said, expressing grief over the unexpected loss. He noted that Tony’s passing has thrown loved ones into mourning, describing it as a painful and significant loss.

Despite the sorrow, he took solace in what he described as Tony’s sincere, dedicated, and consecrated life in service to God, expressing hope that he has found rest with his Creator in heaven.

Tony is to be laid to rest on April 24, 2026, in Ibrede, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

His body currently lies in the morgue, awaiting final burial rites.

“Oh, Tony, rest in the bosom of Christ until we meet again on the resurrection morning,” Ohwobetehe wrote in his closing tribute. “Adieu, my brother.”
