Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has shared a deeply personal moment with the public, posting a decades-old video of her late father, Dr. Akpoti, on her official Facebook page.
In the post made on Thursday, the lawmaker revealed that the footage recently discovered by her younger brother was recorded in 1997 during the burial ceremony of her father’s elder brother, identified as Idu. She noted that her father passed away just a year later, on November 3, 1998.
Reflecting on the video, Akpoti-Uduaghan described the experience of watching it as profoundly emotional, saying it felt like “holding time” in her hands, with her father’s voice and presence vividly brought back to life.
She paid tribute to his memory, expressing that he remains “forever missed and cherished.”
The senator also encouraged members of the public to reflect on their own family memories, inviting those who might recognize their loved ones in similar moments to celebrate and honour them.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, signed off the tribute as a daughter remembering her father, reinforcing her personal connection to the message she shared.
