The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his shifting political affiliations, accusing him of lacking long-term commitment to party development.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the remarks in a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, where he questioned Obi’s history of moving across political platforms.
Morka pointed to Obi’s past involvement with multiple parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the pattern as a consistent trend of political realignment.
According to him, sustainable political growth depends on dedication to building and strengthening party structures over time, rather than frequent transitions between platforms. He argued that stability within the political system is better achieved through sustained engagement within a single party.
The APC spokesman added that effective leadership is rooted in consistency and long-term participation, suggesting that repeated movement between parties could weaken internal cohesion and development.
The remarks come amid increasing political activities and alignments as stakeholders begin positioning ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
