The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki is set to screen former President Goodluck Jonathan as its sole presidential aspirant on Tuesday ahead of the party’s planned primaries.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the faction disclosed that the screening exercise for aspirants would take place by 10 a.m. as part of preparations for the upcoming presidential primary election.
According to the statement, Jonathan is currently the only aspirant expected to appear before the screening panel under the Turaki-led PDP faction.
The development comes amid ongoing political realignments and internal divisions within the opposition party ahead of future electoral activities.
