Reality TV star and entrepreneur Mercy Eke has revealed that she cannot marry or date a man who expects her to cook for him every day, saying such an arrangement does not align with her lifestyle.
The former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) winner made the disclosure during a recent episode of Toke Moments, where she spoke candidly about relationships, marriage expectations and domestic responsibilities.
According to the 35-year-old, cooking is something she does only when she feels like it and not as a daily obligation.
“I can’t marry or date a man who wants me to cook for him regularly. I only cook once in a while when I am in the mood. If you want fresh food every day, hire a chef,” she said.
Eke stressed that no amount of love would make her adopt the routine of preparing meals daily for a partner, adding that men who desire that kind of relationship should seek partners whose expectations align with theirs.
“Love can never make me cook for a man every day. I’m not the woman for that kind of man. There are other women out there who will gladly do that, which is fine,” she said.
She added that compatibility remains an important factor in choosing a life partner.
“That is why it’s important to marry who has what you are looking for. So, if you marry me and you are thinking you don’t eat overnight food, it’s not me. I can’t cook every day,” she added.
Beyond reality television, Mercy Eke has continued to expand her personal brand and business portfolio. She recently earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.
The media personality also made headlines earlier this year after acquiring a Lamborghini, which she fondly described as her “newest pet,” further reinforcing her reputation for a luxurious lifestyle.
