The United States has strongly condemned the killing of members of Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo’s family in Plateau State, describing the attack as a horrific act of violence and calling for swift justice for the perpetrators.
In a statement, the U.S. expressed deep concern over the continued violence targeting Christian communities and other vulnerable populations in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, warning that the persistent attacks remain deeply alarming.
The U.S. extended its condolences to the families of the victims and all those affected by the tragedy, while stressing the need for stronger measures to prevent similar incidents.
The statement noted that U.S. officials had recently discussed the deteriorating security situation with Nigerian authorities, emphasizing that more must be done to curb the recurring violence.
According to the U.S., those responsible for the attack must be identified and prosecuted, while urgent steps should be taken to strengthen security and safeguard Christians and other vulnerable communities across the region.
Reaffirming its commitment to Nigeria, the United States said it would continue working with the Nigerian government and international partners to combat terrorism, counter violent extremism, and promote an environment where Christians and all Nigerians can live and practice their faith freely without fear of violence or persecution.
