The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disclosed plans by the opposition coalition to mount a strong political challenge against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party said the coalition is determined to defeat the APC and unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential election, as opposition groups intensify efforts to build a formidable political platform ahead of the polls.
According to the ADC, the coalition’s strategy will focus on bringing together opposition parties, political leaders and other stakeholders with the aim of presenting a strong alternative to the ruling party.
The party maintained that the 2027 election would provide Nigerians with an opportunity to decide whether to retain the APC-led administration or support the opposition coalition’s proposed political alternative.
The disclosure comes amid growing political realignments and preparations for the 2027 elections, with opposition figures increasingly exploring ways to consolidate their strength and challenge the APC’s dominance at the federal level.
The ADC expressed confidence that a united opposition, backed by widespread support from Nigerians, could deliver a decisive victory against the ruling party in 2027.
