The Christian Women Fellowship International (CWFI) has ushered in a new leadership team to steer the organisation for the next four years, following the completion of a nine-year tenure by the immediate past leadership.
The transition took place on August 8, 2026, with Dr. Margaret E. Benson-Idahosa expressing gratitude to God for the outgoing leadership team, led by Rev. Julie Akhimien, for what she described as nine years of relentless service, progress and impactful projects.
In a statement, Dr. Benson-Idahosa said the organisation had recorded “momentum progress and impactful projects” under the outgoing leadership, adding that the leadership team had worked tirelessly throughout its nine-year tenure.
She commended Rev. Akhimien and her team for their contributions to the growth and development of CWFI, while expressing optimism about the organisation’s future under the new leadership.
Rev. Freda Idahosa Ajayi has assumed the leadership of CWFI for the new four-year dispensation, alongside Rev. Mrs Happiness Ihueze, Rev. Mrs Akenova, Rev. Mrs Attah and Rev. Mrs Imoh Okundaye.
Dr. Benson-Idahosa congratulated the new leadership team, describing their emergence as a blessing and expressing confidence in what she believes God has in store for the organisation.
“I’m certain that eyes hath not seen, nor ears heard, what God has in store for CWFI in this new dispensation,” she said.
She further prayed for the new leadership, saying, “Your dispensation is blessed, and we are blessed to have you powerful and Godly women steer the leadership of CWFI for the coming years.”
The leadership transition marks a new chapter for CWFI as the organisation begins its next four-year term under the Rev. Freda Idahosa Ajayi-led team.
