A Delta Central political supporter, BLDR Emoefe Lawrence, has called on the people of the senatorial district to rally behind former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Emoefe made the call while reacting to Omo-Agege’s recent entry into Eku, where he described the reception as a reflection of the former senator’s enduring connection with the grassroots.
In a statement, Emoefe said Omo-Agege deserved recognition for his political record, leadership qualities and contributions to the development of individuals who, according to him, later became relevant players in the political space.
He argued that political leadership should be judged by a person’s record, courage, loyalty and capacity to deliver, rather than by slogans or temporary political excitement.
Emoefe specifically asked supporters and residents of Delta Central to consider Omo-Agege’s performance as a senator, his role in helping emerging politicians secure electoral victories and his loyalty to the people and causes he believes in.
“If your honest answer to these questions is yes, then the message is simple: rally round Agege again,” he said.
According to him, Omo-Agege’s political footprints, from the Senate to the grassroots, could not be erased by what he described as political propaganda.
Emoefe said the former senator’s emergence under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had opened a new chapter for his political movement, expressing optimism about his prospects ahead of 2027.
He described the Eku reception as a sign that “the grassroots have spoken,” adding that supporters of Omo-Agege were mobilising around his record, political movement and vision for the future.
Emoefe urged Delta Central voters and supporters to continue to support Omo-Agege, declaring: “Agege deserves his flowers. NDC is okay. Agege Again 2027. Delta Central Wadoo!”
