Senator Ede Dafinone has congratulated former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Stephen Orishe Oru, on his 79th birthday, describing him as an accomplished public servant and distinguished son of Delta State.
Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, conveyed the felicitation in a birthday message issued in honour of Oru, who clocked 79.
According to the senator, Oru’s decades of service to Delta State and Nigeria have earned him recognition as a respected politician, elder statesman and committed public servant.
Dafinone highlighted Oru’s contributions to education and human capital development, particularly his service as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Chairman of the Governing Council of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara.
He also commended the former minister for bringing his experience and expertise to bear during his tenure as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, noting his contributions to the development of the Niger Delta region and Nigeria.
“At 79, Dr Oru stands as an accomplished public servant, respected politician, elder statesman and a man whose years of service have contributed significantly to the development of Delta State and Nigeria,” Dafinone said.
The senator described Oru’s commitment to public service as worthy of recognition and commendation, while celebrating his contributions to the state and the country.
Dafinone wished the former minister greater joy, good health and continued blessings in the years ahead.
“Happy 79th birthday, Sir. May the years ahead be filled with greater joy, good health and continued blessings,” he added.
