The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, has felicitated with the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Churchill Oyovwe, on his birthday.
In a goodwill message, Nwaeke described Oyovwe as a distinguished journalist, respected leader of the pen profession and a cherished friend and classmate from their days at Delta State University, Abraka.
He recalled that both men were members of the Mass Communication Department’s Class of 1998, which he described as the “great and indomitable Class of ’98,” noting that their relationship had remained strong beyond their professional engagements.
According to Nwaeke, Oyovwe has consistently demonstrated dedication, humility and professional excellence since their university days.
“Today is special because we celebrate a brother, a classmate and a professional colossus. Churchill has remained a shining example of dedication, humility and professional excellence since our university days as members of the great, indomitable Class of ’98.
“Churchill is a jolly good fellow and a close friend whose friendship dates back to our university days,” he said.
Nwaeke also commended Oyovwe for his contributions to journalism and his leadership of the NUJ Delta State Council.
He noted that Oyovwe’s commitment to the welfare of journalists and the advancement of the profession had earned him the respect and goodwill of colleagues and stakeholders.
The Chief Press Secretary wished the NUJ chairman many more years of good health, wisdom, fulfilment and success, praying that God would grant him the grace to celebrate many more birthdays in prosperity.
“As you celebrate this special day, I celebrate not only the journalist and NUJ leader in you, but also the friend and brother I have known for many years. May the years ahead bring you greater accomplishments and fulfilment.
“Happy birthday, my brother and friend,” Nwaeke added.
