Edo governor says Tinubu’s reforms are boosting revenue and accelerating development, urges Nigerians to renew president’s mandate

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, insisting that there is “no vacancy in Aso Rock” because the president’s economic policies and reforms are transforming Nigeria.

Okpebholo made the declaration on Saturday, October 31, 2026, while receiving members of the political group, Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), led by its Director-General, Hon. Ahmed Balla, during a courtesy visit to the Government House.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Akhere Ebojele, Okpebholo attributed the infrastructural development being witnessed in Edo State to the support and financial backing of the Tinubu administration.

The governor said the Federal Government’s policies had improved the financial capacity of state governments, making it easier for them to execute development projects and meet their obligations.

“We are developing Edo State through the support of President Tinubu. He is making the job of governance easier for our administration,” the governor was quoted as saying.

He further argued that Tinubu’s economic reforms were improving Nigeria’s revenue generation capacity and providing governors with more resources to drive development.

“His policies and reforms are transforming Nigeria and increasing the internally generated revenue for the nation.

“We no longer beg to pay salaries but easily embark on development projects across the nation as governors get more money to develop their various states,” Okpebholo stated.

Expressing confidence in the president’s leadership, the Edo governor urged Nigerians to support Tinubu for another term in office, maintaining that the ongoing reforms would eventually deliver greater benefits to the country.

“No vacancy in Aso Rock. We have confidence in the president’s capacity to deliver. With the ongoing reforms, Nigeria will achieve success,” he declared.

RTIFN Commends Okpebholo, Pledges Political Support

Earlier, the Director-General of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria, Hon. Ahmed Balla, commended Governor Okpebholo for what he described as the transformational turnaround in Edo State.

Balla appealed to residents of the state to continue supporting the governor’s administration to enable it to sustain its developmental agenda.

He also assured Okpebholo of the group’s readiness to mobilise support for his re-election in 2028.

Explaining the group’s visit, Balla said RTIFN was in the South-South region to organise a rally and town hall engagements aimed at highlighting the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

According to him, the group’s mobilisation campaign would extend beyond the South-South to the North-Central region, including Lokoja, Kogi State.
