Ibrede Grammar School is in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State and founded in 1977.
Today, this great school that has produced who’s who in Delta and Nigeria in general is already abandoned and in the shadows of it’s self and crying for urgent attention for Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Rebuilding to earn its glory.

Upon visiting the School recently, the infrastructure, development and equipment seen could best be described as an eye saw and horrible to behold and The Roma news gathered that through self help and support from some indigenes of the community and Alma mater, some renovations and repairs were carried out that has brought face lift to some blocks of classrooms in the great school.

When contacted and in their terse and pathetic messages, the Chairman and Secretary General of Ibrede Grammar School Old Boys Association (IGSOBA), Mr Iruke Ubiomo and Onomerike Emmanuel respectively, revealed that “a lot has been done in the past by the body in an effort to rebuild and remodel the school” adding that “it was now necessary to cry to the State government and other spirited individuals and bodies to come to the aid of Ibrede Community and resurrect the school back to life before its total dilabilitation and decay”.

They called on the Delta State government through the listening talk and do Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori to focus and beam his satellites and attention to rescue the school from total collapse and extinction adding that education is the only legacy that can be bequeathed to our children.
“We just hope that our father, the father of the State, our able Governor has not forgotten Ibrede Grammar School. He’s doing a lot for the total transformation of the State through the realization of the M.O.R.E agenda and Ibrede Grammar School should not be left out. The State Ministry of Education should do something very urgent and wipe away the shame and tears from us so that our children can study and learn in a good habitation and environment”.

This is very terrible. Government should do something as education is the key and fundamental right of every child.
