Reactions have continue to trail recent demolition of houses believes to be inhabit by suspected cultist and kidnappers in Edo State by Edo State Special Security Squad.
During the week and in one of such operations, the Edo State Special Security Squad, codenamed Operation Flush Out Cultists and Kidnappers, commenced mass demolition of properties linked to suspected cultists in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Over twenty suspects were allegedly arrested during the operations, with four houses demolished, including a building located on Egbiadokhai Street, behind Otaru Primary School in Auchi, allegedly owned by a wanted cultist known as Too-Believe.
While a section of the inhabitants commended the State government for the action and steps taken to eradicate hoodlums, cultist and kidnappers from Edo State, others viewed it from different perspectives.
“God bless the Government of Monday Okpebholo for the action “.
“The message is clear, landlord screen the tenant you are giving your property other wise you will be tenant”.
Others however saw it differently and spoke in the opposite.
“This is very good move , but I suggest the house can be used for something good than demolishing it”.Una dey build one sector dey destroy another sector, how development wan take come like that??….
“Destroying infrastructure because to fight insecurity.. ahhhh. Can’t those buildings be converted to government properties for state use??? Who are Monday’s advisers”?
“So the building can’t be converted for a better use, like police station”?
It’s hope that the move will achieve the desire results and goals.
