At its plenary today, the Edo State House of Assembly confirmed Six commissioner nominees.
This followed the presentation and consideration of the screening reports by the House Committee on Rules, Business, and Government House.
The reports were duly considered at the Committee of the Whole before the nominees were confirmed.
Those confirmed include:
1. Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele – Esan Central Local Government Area
2. Barr. Kenneth Ihensekhien – Igueben Local Government Area
3.Rt Hon. Ebea Festus Odianose – Esan South-East Local Government Area
4. Dr. Jerry Uwague – Esan North-East Local Government Area
5. Barr. Usenbor Paul Ehijie – Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area
6. Hon John Osi Akhigbe
Meanwhile, Hon Christopher Ewere Okaeben from Oredo was not cleared as he has other pending issues to resolve before his clearance by the House.
In a related development, the House also confirmed Dr. Ehiabhi Odiase from Esan West Local Government Area as the Chairman of the Governing Board, Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.
Additionally, the House also passed the Ecological Funding and Management Commission. The commission will be responsible for the mobilization, allocation, utilization, monitoring, and management of ecological funds and resources in Edo State, as well as related matters. The bill was given accelerated passage after relaxing House rules for that purpose.
The House Sitting, was thereafter adjourned to 20th October, 2025.
