Academic activities were reportedly shut down on Monday at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, following an ongoing renovation exercise within the institution.
To maintain law and order and regulate movement around the campus during the exercise, a Nigerian Army armored vehicle was stationed at the university’s main gate.
As a result of the development, several students were seen exiting the campus and returning to their homes in compliance with directives from security personnel.
The suspension of academic activities is expected to remain in effect until further notice, pending the completion of the renovation work.
