Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has renewed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid to secure a second term in office in the 2027 presidential election.
Adeleke made the declaration on Sunday while delivering his victory speech following his re-election as governor of Osun State.
The governor commended President Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to ensuring a free and fair governorship election in the state.
“At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election,” Adeleke said.
Describing Tinubu as “a son of Osun State,” Adeleke used the occasion to reaffirm his earlier endorsement of the President for another term.
“Mr President is a son of Osun State and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” he said.
Adeleke had earlier revealed that Tinubu personally called to congratulate him on his victory before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) formally announced the final results.
The governor’s renewed endorsement came after he secured a second term in Saturday’s Osun governorship election, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to INEC, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to emerge victorious, while Oyebamiji secured 444,815 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.
Adeleke’s victory and renewed backing for Tinubu further highlight the evolving political dynamics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
