A 50-year-old Nigerian woman, Olushola Olonade, has shared her remarkable journey to motherhood after welcoming quadruplets—two boys and two girls following years of waiting to get married and have children.

Olonade recounted her experience on Sunday during a testimony at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Solid Rock Parish, in the Ojodu area of Lagos.

According to her, she got married on December 12, 2023, at the age of 48 after what she described as a long wait for a life partner. Following her marriage, she prayed that she would not have to endure another long wait before becoming a mother.

“I got married after waiting for many years, and I kept telling God that I did not want to wait twice. I had waited for a husband, and I didn’t want to wait again for children,” she said.

Olonade disclosed that she conceived shortly after her wedding, but the number of babies she was carrying remained uncertain during the early stages of her pregnancy.

She explained that the first ultrasound scan indicated she was expecting twins, while a second scan suggested triplets. A subsequent examination eventually confirmed that she was carrying quadruplets.

“When we went for the first scan, the doctor said he was seeing twins. I told my husband that even if it was one child, people would finally stop calling me ‘Mummy Shola,'” she recalled.

She added that after experiencing complications during the pregnancy, another scan revealed an even bigger surprise.

“The doctor asked how many babies I had been told before. I said three. He looked again and said, ‘I think I am seeing four.’ I was overwhelmed by the news,” she said.

Olonade eventually gave birth to the quadruplets—two boys and two girls on March 6, 2026, just weeks before celebrating her 50th birthday on March 31.

She also revealed that multiple births are common in her family, noting that several relatives, including her aunt, were astonished but delighted by the arrival of the four babies.

Her testimony has since drawn admiration from many, with worshippers celebrating what they described as a remarkable journey from years of waiting to the joy of motherhood.
