AKURE — Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, have rescued 10 kidnap victims, including a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), from the hideouts of suspected kidnappers in different parts of the state.
The State Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the victims were rescued during a series of coordinated operations conducted in forest locations within Akure North Local Government Area and other affected communities.
According to Adeleye, the rescue mission followed recent incidents of abductions carried out by suspected kidnappers operating in the affected areas.
He said the operations were intelligence-driven and involved intensive searches of identified forest hideouts, leading to the successful rescue of all 10 victims without casualties.
The Amotekun commander reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state, assuring residents that efforts would be intensified to rid Ondo forests and communities of criminal elements.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations against kidnappers and other criminal gangs.
