Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has felicitated with Muslim faithful across Delta State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, urging Nigerians to embrace peace, tolerance and unity for the progress of the nation.
In a goodwill message marking the celebration, Dafinone described Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, as an important occasion for reflection on the Prophet’s teachings and enduring legacy.
He noted that the virtues of compassion, humility, tolerance, sacrifice, peaceful coexistence and service to humanity, exemplified by the Prophet, remain relevant to the task of building a just, peaceful and prosperous society.
The senator called on Muslim faithful to continue to uphold these values while promoting peace, mutual understanding and respect for people of different backgrounds.
“Beyond our religious, ethnic and political affiliations, we are first and foremost Nigerians with a shared destiny,” Dafinone said, urging citizens to focus on the bonds that unite the country rather than the differences that divide it.
He stressed that greater national cohesion was necessary at a time when Nigeria requires collective efforts to overcome its challenges and achieve sustainable development.
Dafinone also encouraged Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance and mutual respect as they work towards building a stronger and more united Delta State and Nigeria.
He prayed that the celebration would bring renewed hope, peace and prosperity to the people, while asking Almighty Allah to grant the nation’s leaders wisdom, protect communities and bless Nigeria with greater stability, progress and prosperity.
The senator wished Muslim faithful across Delta State and Nigeria a peaceful, joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
