The Edo State Government has announced that the ongoing recruitment exercise into the Nigerian Army remains open, urging qualified youths across the state to take advantage of the opportunity.
In an official public notice signed by Ebea Festus Odianose, the Honourable Commissioner for Public Security and Safety, interested applicants are advised to submit their names and relevant details to his office for proper documentation and guidance.
The government emphasized its commitment to supporting eligible indigenes while cautioning applicants to remain vigilant against fraudsters. It stressed that the recruitment process is strictly merit-based and completely free of charge. No individual or group has been authorized to collect money or any form of gratification on behalf of the government or the Nigerian Army.
The statement further warned that anyone found engaging in bribery either by demanding or offering inducements will be reported and prosecuted according to the law.
According to the notice, prospective applicants must possess a minimum of a school certificate and fall within the age range of 18 to 26 years. Candidates with trade skills such as electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanics are particularly encouraged to apply.
