The Edo State Civil Service Commission has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for driver positions in the Edo City Transport Service (ECTS), as part of efforts to fill vacancies in the state civil service.
The recruitment announcement, signed on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission, directs interested applicants to submit their applications online through the official recruitment portal at jobs.edostate.gov.ng.
According to the announcement, the available positions are Motor Driver Mechanic and Heavy Lorry Driver, both on Grade Level 04.
For the position of Motor Driver Mechanic, applicants are required to possess a First School Leaving Certificate, a valid Class C driving licence and a Class III Trade Test Certificate in motor mechanic work, alongside relevant experience.
Candidates applying for the Heavy Lorry Driver position must possess a First School Leaving Certificate, a valid Class C driving licence and at least two years of satisfactory post-qualification driving experience.
The Commission stated that interested candidates must complete and submit their applications through the online recruitment portal within two weeks of the vacancy announcement’s publication.
It further advised applicants to apply for only one position, warning that multiple applications would lead to disqualification.
The Commission emphasised that the recruitment exercise would be conducted in a free, fair and merit-based manner, assuring prospective applicants that equal opportunities would be provided to all eligible candidates.
It also warned that the Edo State Government would not require applicants to pay any individual or organisation to participate in the recruitment exercise.
Members of the public have been encouraged to share the vacancy announcement with qualified and interested persons to ensure that eligible candidates are aware of the employment opportunities.
The recruitment exercise is expected to help fill vacant driver positions within the Edo City Transport Service and support the state’s public transport operations.
