This was the day General Ibrahim Babangida, then Nigerian Head of State, flew an Okada Air Boeing 747. Okada Air, owned by Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, was the first black-owned private airline, during its time, to purchase the Boeing 747 jumbo jet in 1992.
This photo was taken as Babangida and his team, including Chief Tom Ikimi, were disembarking from the aircraft.
Chief Tom Ikimi is a Nigerian architect and politician who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 1998 under General Sani Abacha.
