Parents and stakeholders of Ibrede Grammar School (IGS), Ibrede, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, have elected a new executive committee for the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) during its general meeting held on Friday.
The meeting, which brought together parents, teachers and school management, focused on key issues affecting the administration of the school, students’ welfare, parental involvement and measures to strengthen security within the school environment.
At the end of the election, Comrade Daniel Oghenekaro Efajemue emerged as the new PTA Chairman, while Chief Patrick Okafor was elected Vice Chairman.
In his acceptance speech, Efajemue thanked parents for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work closely with the school management, parents and the host community to advance the development of the school and improve students’ academic and overall well-being.
He also appealed for the support and cooperation of all parents and stakeholders, stressing that collective efforts would be essential to the success of his administration.
The Principal of the school commended parents for their unwavering support and active participation in the affairs of the institution, reaffirming the management’s commitment to creating a conducive learning environment and promoting greater parental involvement in the education of their children.
Founded in 1977 with the motto, No Cross No Crown, Ibrede Grammar School has remained one of the notable secondary schools in Ndokwa East Local Government Area. Over the years, the institution has produced numerous graduates and professionals who have distinguished themselves in various fields and are contributing meaningfully to society both within Nigeria and across the world.
The newly elected PTA leadership is expected to work with the school management to address pressing challenges and implement initiatives that will further enhance teaching, learning and the overall development of the institution.
