The military of Israel has announced that it carried out overnight airstrikes on key ballistic missile production facilities in Tehran.
According to a statement released on Saturday, the strikes were aimed at infrastructure linked to Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, specifically facilities involved in the production of critical components used in the development of ballistic missiles.
The Israeli military said the targeted sites were part of the Iranian regime’s security apparatus and played a role in advancing its missile capabilities.
“Facilities utilised for the production of critical components for the development of ballistic missiles belonging to the Iranian regime’s security apparatus were targeted,” the statement read.
The development marks a further escalation in tensions between Israel and Iran, with both sides frequently accusing each other of destabilising activities in the region.
