Governor Monday Okpebholo on Sunday led several dignitaries to a Special Thanksgiving Service held in honour of late Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, mother of Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa.
The thanksgiving service took place at Living Faith Church, Sapele Road, Benin City, and attracted prominent political leaders, government officials, associates, family members and well-wishers from across the state.
Governor Okpebholo’s attendance highlighted the solidarity and support of the Edo State Government for the Deputy Governor and the Idahosa family as they honoured the memory and legacy of the late matriarch, who died at the age of 95.
Other dignitaries present at the service included former Edo State Governor, Lucky Igbinedion; former Deputy Governor, Lucky Imasuen; Deputy State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sylvester Aigboboh; members of the Edo State House of Assembly; civil commissioners; political associates; and friends of the family.
Delivering the sermon, Pastor Emmanuel Ebiwoye preached from Mark 4:11, urging Christians to remain steadfast in faith and place total reliance on God in every circumstance of life.
Special prayers were also offered for the Idahosa family, the Edo State Government, and continued peace and progress in Edo State.
The thanksgiving service formed part of activities held in honour of late Mrs. Esther Idahosa, remembered by many as a devoted mother and virtuous woman whose life impacted numerous people positively.
