Former Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mrs. Rebecca Aikhomu, wife of the late Admiral Augustus Aikhomu, a former Chief of General Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a condolence message, Obaseki described the late Mrs. Aikhomu as an exceptional woman whose quiet strength, dignity and devotion to family left a lasting impression on all who encountered her. He noted that her passing represents a personal loss, given his longstanding warm relationship with the Aikhomu family.

Obaseki praised Mrs. Aikhomu for her humility, compassion and unwavering commitment to the values that distinguished the Aikhomu household as a symbol of integrity and leadership in Edo State and Nigeria. He added that she supported her late husband with remarkable dedication and continued to embody discipline, kindness and resilience throughout her life.

The former governor extended heartfelt condolences to the Aikhomu family and all those mourning her death, praying for divine comfort and strength during this difficult period. He also wished the departed matriarch eternal rest.
