Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, stating that the “MORE” Agenda is designed to ensure that no part of the state is left behind.

The Governor made this disclosure on Wednesday during the commissioning of several developmental projects executed by the Ndokwa East Local Government Council.

According to the Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Ph.D., the Chairman of the Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Chief Vincent Osilonya, has provided a leadership model for prudent resource management and accountable governance.

“As I look around and see the faces of our people, I am reminded of the resilience and vibrant spirit that define this local government area.

“Today, we are celebrating accountable leadership and the tangible fruits of our ‘MORE’ Agenda as they trickle down to the grassroots.

“I want to specifically commend the Executive Chairman of the Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Chief Vincent Osilonya.

“Chief Osilonya, you have demonstrated that the local government is indeed the closest tier of administration to the people.

“By executing these diverse projects—ranging from infrastructure to social utilities—you have aligned perfectly with our vision of integrated state development.

“You have shown that with prudent resource management and a heart for the people, great things are possible.

“The new administrative building will enhance service delivery, and the importance of the e-library in this age of Information and Communication Technology cannot be overemphasized.

“I am also pleased to see that economic activities are witnessing a boom with the construction of these markets.

“Investments in health and education facilities ensure a brighter, healthier future for the children of Ndokwa East.

“In the areas of security and the environment, these initiatives provide the peace of mind necessary for businesses to thrive.

“When the state and local governments work in harmony, it is the ordinary citizen who wins.

“To the good people of Ndokwa East: these projects belong to you, I urge you to take full ownership of them; protect these facilities from vandalism and ensure they are maintained so that they may serve you and your children for years to come.

“Our administration remains committed to the Ndokwa nation; we recognize your contributions to the nation’s economy, and we will continue to ensure that you receive your fair share of development and recognition.

“You are aware that work has commenced on the Aboh-Akarai road, we have completed the Kwale-Beneku bridge, and by next year, construction work shall commence on the road from Emu-Ebendo to Emu-Iyasele, which will terminate here in Ashaka.

“There are several other road projects ongoing in Ndokwa West, Ukwuani Local Government, and other parts of Delta State, so, continue to remain peaceful and support our administration,” Governor Oborevwori said.

In his address, Chief Osilonya stated that the projects were need-based and designed to alleviate the suffering of the people.

Projects commissioned during the ceremony included the Oloa Ossissa Town Hall, a block of classrooms at Oloa Ossissa Primary School, the Ibrede Town Hall, the Ashaka E-Library, the Ndokwa East Local Government Council Annex in Ashaka, and the Chairman’s Quarters in Ashaka, among others.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials and dignitaries, including Chief Godwill Obielum; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Kanemala Penewou; the Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Nze Ashibogwu; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Sir Christopher Osakwe; and traditional rulers, including His Imperial Majesty, Dr. Greg Oputa III, the Obi of Aboh.
