Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has inspected the ongoing road construction project in Uhunmwode Local Government Area, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and delivering people-centered development.

The governor, who returned to the community during an inspection tour, said the project was a pledge he made to residents during his 2024 election campaign, assuring them that the road would be constructed if he was given the mandate to govern the state.

“I assured the people during the campaign that if entrusted with the mandate to serve as Governor, I would ensure this road is constructed, and today, that promise is becoming a reality,” Okpebholo said.

He noted that beyond the physical progress of the project, the most fulfilling aspect for him was the positive response from community members.

“What gives me the greatest joy is not just the progress of the project, but the smiles, relief, and renewed hope on the faces of the people,” the governor added.

According to Okpebholo, effective governance must be rooted in keeping faith with the people and delivering development that directly improves their daily lives.

“This is what governance should be about—keeping faith with the people and delivering development that directly improves their daily lives,” he said.

The governor further reiterated his administration’s resolve to ensure that development reaches all parts of the state, stressing that no community would be left behind.

“I remain fully committed to ensuring that every part of Edo State feels the impact of good governance, because Edo must SHINE,” Okpebholo declared.

The inspection forms part of the administration’s broader infrastructure development drive under its SHINE Agenda, aimed at improving road networks and enhancing the quality of life for residents across Edo State.
